Lokomotiv Players Visit Kindergarten
Today Lokomotiv youth team players have visited the Golden Fish kindergarten. It is located next door to the stadium of Spartak Moscow so it was important to explain to the kids who's the real team in town.
Despite their very young age, - some kids are under 6, - they were extremely interested in the club. They were demonstrated a patriotic video with black-and-white photos documenting the early history of Lokomotiv. The toddlers were excited, and clapped to the popular Team of Our Young Days song.
The thrill increased when Nikolay Kipiani and Andrea Chukanov came in. The two performed keepie uppie and made spectacular feints. The children watched them with their jaws dropped, saying 'Wow! I want to be a football player, too!' Besides their skills demonstration, Andrea and Nikolay played funny games and danced a circle dance with them.
Another star of the meeting was Rail, the Family Area mascot. He entertained the children who tried to climb to his back and eventually dropped him on the carpet.
The 5-year old Frosya has shared her most intimate thoughts: 'I love playing ball games, and I like to watch athletes playing it. But two days ago I lost my ball and was upset. And today the footballers came and played ball with me! I liked it. Lokomotiv’s colours are great, red and green!’
And then the children started giving presents! They had prepared a replica of the Cherkizovo stadium where Lokomotiv were beating Spartak. Besides, they gave Andrea and Nikolay their paintings and football players figures made of plasticine.
Lokomotiv had something to give the children, too. On behalf of the club, Andrea and Nikolay gave the kids small medals with with their autographs signed, badges, keychains and other club merchandise. Then there was a traditional photo session and autograph signing session with Chukanov, Kipiani, and Rail. The players admitted they were very happy to talk to the kids: ‘Yes, they are very little but it’s so interesting to be with them! They get so sincerely delighted about what you show! And it’s easy to get on with them’.
