A Derby Is Always About Character

The press service is filing this report about the preparation for the game against Torpedo.

During the recent days, the Railwaymen had one practice per day at their base in Bakovka. Due to the tight game schedule, the load was differentiated. The subs who didn’t play against Dynamo trained longer. Ilya Abaev and Nemanja Pejcinovic who picked up injuries in the well-remembered game against Rubin also were with the team, training according to their individual workouts.

The players understand that this derby is special for the fans and expect many people to come to watch the game.
The guys say they feel the growing agitation: friends are asking for tickets, and the fans in the social networks leave comments that help tune in for the right mood. But the closer the derby, the less time for social networking.

'I watched the game against Dynamo from the chair at the stadium. Of course I want to highlight the team’s character: we were understaffed but went forward and equalized. It was obvious the guys wanted to show their worth. There’re more than twenty players to pick from, and everyone is ready to play. A derby is always about character, and this coming fixture won’t be an exception. We see they are gathering points, they are a serious rival’, says Ian Durica in an interview with the press service.

Lokomotiv are hosting Torpedo on April 8th. The game kicks off at 8 p.m. Moscow time. Our website will do live text commentary, also available on Twitter.
