Lokomotiv juniors have drawn against their peers from Krasnodar in Gameweek 7 fixture of the Russian Championship.
Lokomotiv took the pitch slightly changed from the previous line-ups. This time around, the managers decided to start those who had helped bag the win over with Ufa. Georgiy Makhatadze appeared in the midfield. Artem Galadzhan occupied his habitual position up front. The third new man to step in was the recently recovered Anton Miranchuk.
Lokomotiv could have sealed the victory already in the first half but all luck went against us. Zhemaletdinov alone came close three times, but the visitors’ keeper demonstrated good skills. And when the goalie wasn’t up to it, he was saved by the crossbar.
Kransodar opened the scoring in the second half - Cherchesov caught the pass across the face of the goal, availing himself of the scramble in the box. Lokomotiv pulled it back 17 minutes later. Nikitin made a though pass from the wing, and Galadzhan scored another goal to his name.
The Railwaymen could have gone ahead right off in their next attack - if Makhatadze’s two powerful long shots from the centre circle qualify for the term ‘attack’. The goalkeeper tipped off the first ball right off the line. Next time the crossbar was once more on the visitors’ side.
For the final 20 minutes the coaches brought on Miranchuk and Rubtsov. They livened up the play considerably, but didn’t help to grab a win – 1:1.
