Belarussian international defensive midfielder Ian Tigorev was born in the Russian Far East, but at the age of 9 he and his parents moved to the town of Zhodino, Belarus. He started taking football lessons at the local sports school. At the age of 17 Ian was taken to Dynamo Minsk. Soon he became a regular pick for the main team. He made 128 appearances during 4 years with Dynamo Minsk (2002 – 2006), and won all possible medals of the Belorussian championship.

From Belarus Ian went to Ukraine to play for Metallurg from 2007 to 2010. After that he made his way back to Russia to play for Tom. With the Siberians, Tigorev became the League’s Top Tackler of the first 10 Gameweeks. In the mid-season Tigorev got seriously injured and dropped out for half a year. Having recovered, Ian walked out on the contract with Tom which were experiencing grave financial problems at that time.

On December 30, 2011, Ian Tigorev signed a contract with Lokomotiv.
