Draw In Tiraspol
Lokomotiv have drawn 1:1 against Sheriff in the third leg of the Europa League group stage.
This game caused a huge buzz in Tiraspol. Lots of billboards called people to visit the stadium that night, while the local TV companies covered the routine of our team almost live. Tiraspol also saw a big crowd of the Lokomotiv fans travelling to support their team.
The starting list lacked Alexey Miranchuk who had picked up an injury during one of the training sessions. The coaches decided to keep him off the turf this time, Alexey has to recover by the Monday clash with Krasnodar. Meanwhile, Anton Miranchuk filled in for the brother and was effective. On 17 minutes Farfan heeled to the youngster who entered the penalty area and took a shot at the far corner, scoring his debut goal for Lokomotiv.
The home side made 8 attempts in the first half, 5 were on target, and 1 was effective. Badibanga headed it home, Guilherme parried but the goal-line technology system indicated the ball crossed the touchline.
In the second half the teams weren't that active. Lokomotiv were much more careful in midfield, denying Sheriff opportunities for counterattacks. In the end of the day the game resulted in a 1:1 draw, leaving the Railroaders on top of Group F. Elsewhere, Zlin and Copenhagen drew, too.
