Ndinga: I remember my first days with Loko

Lokomotiv midfielder Delvin Ndinga shared his thoughts after the bounce game with Lorient (1:1) during the Austrian training camp.

- Austria offers great conditions for practice. Many football clubs look to arrange their pre-season camps in this country, - says Ndinga. – Yet, there can be unfortunate surprises like this time around, for instance, when it keeps raining. As we were about to set off for the match with Lorient, they told us it was possible we were not going anywhere, because the field was soaked. We did not want to lose a day of training. Managers came up with the solution. It was still raining heavily, but we had an excellent pitch to play on.

- This camp in Walchsee is the second one for me, - Ndinga continues speaking. – A year ago I had just signed with Loko and joined them right here, at the camp. Now I remember my early days with Loko. It was not so easy to cope with the physical load at first. Gradually I adapted. Then our team made a strong start to the campaign.

- What did you like – or dislike – about the friendly with Lorient?

- It was just a regular pre-season friendly. Both sides put in a shift, both erred a bit but we managed to raise our game. In other words, it was a good preparation match, and that’s all there is to say about it.

- You looked exited, talking to Lorient players. Did you meet someone you knew from before?

- Several of Lorient players attended the same academy at Auxerre as me. It is an excellent school, indeed, which has produced many footballers. We recalled how we had learned skills together at Auxerre, and told one another of our current clubs.
